HOMEWOOD, Ala. (WBRC) – A dog groomer accused of ghosting clients is now facing felony charges after a 6 On Your Side Investigation revealed customers never received the services they paid for.
Homewood Police launched an investigation shortly after we told you about dog groomer Asher Jace and how customers say they gave him thousands of dollars for dog grooming services and got nothing in return.
Jace, whose legal name is Ashley Page, now has two felony warrants for theft of property (3rd degree), according to Homewood PD.
Gennifer Allen, one of Jace’s clients, said they also received messages asking for donations for Jace and his dog’s cancer treatments. Allen and others say Jace kept cancelling appointments, gave excuses and they eventually stopped hearing from him. So, they called WBRC for help.
“It’s scary knowing that he could be out and could potentially be doing it to other people. A thousand dollars is a lot of money and who knows what he’s saying to these clients,” Allen said in Sept. 2024.
Since our first story, we’ve heard from at least a dozen more people who shared similar experiences about dealing with Jace.
Police say each theft warrant has a $10,000 bond. We’re told more warrants could be on the way. At last check, Jace lives out of state and has not been arrested yet on the warrants.
This investigation is ongoing. Homewood Police say if you have any information, reach out to them.
