From presidential suites and swimming pools to underfloor heating, here are a few comfortable pet hotels for your dog, cat, rabbit, or others. Remember to show your vaccination records, as some places strictly won’t allow your pet to board without them.
Do you prefer a petsitter who comes to you instead? Oh My Cat and Spare Leash offer pet-sitting services, while the WeChat platform Happy Nest (WeChat ID: HappyNestSH) connects you with pet-loving trainers, sitters, and groomers who all make house calls. There are also two Chinese platforms offering more affordable prices: a mini-program called 嘻猫 (ximao) and 猫巷 (maoxiang), if you have no problem with the language.

Named after the owner’s “famous” dogs Baozi and Mantou, B&M is an adorable pet boarding business with three locations in Shanghai. We visited the Puxi location, opened in 2019, near international schools BISS, SAS, and WISS. Owner Golden Chen and his wife founded the company in 2016 after he left the Chinese media industry. The reception area feels like a pet spa, complete with a paw-shaped desk and a namaste vibe. The facility offers underfloor heating, air filtration every 20 minutes to prevent doggie odors, and four daily walks for dogs. It also provides a separate area for animals recovering from surgery and has connections with two veterinary clinics. Owners must provide their own pet food.
Price per day: For cats, prices start from 200 RMB. Dog boarding ranges from 280 RMB to 680 RMB, with the most expensive rooms being the “Presidential Suites”.
Booking: Contact Golden Chen via call or WeChat (GoldenChen68).
Animals allowed: While primarily catering to dogs, B&M also welcomes cats, rabbits, turtles, guinea pigs, hamsters, and more.
