A dog lover is opening the doors of her home as she launches a new dog boarding business.
Zoe Hindes, 45, has started Beccles Cosy Home Dog Boarding, which offers an in-home boarding and day care experience while dog owners go on holiday or away for a few days.
Miss Hindes previously worked as a dog groomer, but she was inspired to try a new path after rescuing her timid dog Scooby from Meadowgreen Dog Rescue centre in Hales, which closed in 2023.
She said: “I’ve always dreamed of creating a safe and loving environment for dogs.”
Miss Hindes started preparing last summer with installing 6ft fences, and received her licence this week for the business.

She said: “I’m so excited – I’ve been wanting to work solely with dogs in-home for a long time.”
“It is a dream come true.”
The home offers a space for three other dogs on the site as Miss Hindes said she wants to keep it “quite small” so she can focus her attention on the dogs.
Before booking, the business does require an initial overnight “meet and greet” to get to know the dogs’ personalities and preferences.

The dogs are able to stay for any length of time within what is available, but female dogs that are in season and “intact” male dogs are not accepted.
The pets must not have a history of having attacked other animals, people or children, and the owners must provide a secure collar, lead, and all the dogs’ food for their stay.
Boarding fees are charged nightly at £35 on a rolling 24 hour basis.
The business has already received its first few bookings and Miss Hindes said she is “excited for more”.
