28 dogs seized in animal cruelty, fighting investigation in Luzerne County – WNEP Scranton/Wilkes-Barre

LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — More than two dozen dogs were removed from a home as part of an animal cruelty and dog fighting investigation in Luzerne County.
According to state police, while executing a search warrant at a home in West Hazleton, investigators found 28 dogs and evidence of animal fighting.
Authorities removed the animals from the home with the help of Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, and they are now being cared for by the ASPCA.
Officials say one person was taken into custody on other criminal charges but have not yet released their identity.
