The dogs, who live at Hunter Valley Lifestyle Estate with their owners, exchanged vows in front of fellow canines and humans in a splendid autumnal wedding.
“He always gives her everything. If he’s got the ball, he comes over, he drops it, and gives it to her,” said Duke’s owner and wedding coordinator, Cheryl Terlecki.

Duke, about one-and-a-half years old, is a cockapoo (a cocker spaniel and poodle cross), and Bella, aged three, is a poodle, owned by Wendy.

The dogs spend a lot of time together at the on-site dog park and while Bella is the more sociable of the pair, she always makes time for him.

“She just runs over to him and sits with him… he’ll go to whisper little things in her ears,” Ms Terlecki said.

They were married on March 30 at the estate, with Bella walking down a red carpet aisle to Chapel of Love by The Dixie Cups.
Ms Terlecki was creative with writing the vows plus the celebrant’s script; for instance, when they said ‘Do you, Duke, take Bella to be your partner in crime?’, Ms Terlecki replied ‘woof; he does’ on her fur-child’s behalf.
The celebrant concluded the ceremony with these remarks:

“As we have heard and witnessed Bella and Duke and their owners, we now pronounce you both pooches in love. Now you can go ahead and sniff the bride.”

The newlyweds left the ceremony to Baha Men’s Who Let The Dogs Out and celebrated with fur and human family and friends at the clubhouse for a reception.

Ms Terlecki made the wedding outfits for the bride and groom.
Bella was stunning in a white tutu with black spots, plus a white veil with pearls through it, and a pearl and lace necklace with diamantes.
Duke looked handsome in a tuxedo made with suit material and a top hat.

Their bridal party included Juliet, a shih tzu, and Ozzi, a staffy cross.
