Andy from Dorset shared this photo of his daughter Isabel, 12, looking less than delighted to be dressed as the A470 and clutching a copy of the Ladybird book of roads. He assures us: "It's her favourite road as it takes her back to where she was born, Dolgellau in Wales".
"He has to go to school dressed as a character from Scottish literature. So he's Begbie," wrote his dad Joe sharing this picture of his six-year-old son Dan impersonating Irvine Welsh's Trainspotting anti-hero. It was just a joke though, Joe told us. Dan really went to school dressed as Harry Potter.
Kerrie and her children Lyla (11), Sid (four) and Raven (two) plus Pugsley the dog as "Pugma", from New Hills, Derbyshire, recreated the story of Red Riding Hood. "It's Lyla's last year at primary school and her last World Book Day so we thought we'd go out in style," Kerrie told us.
Holly's daughter Peyton, seven, loved the book Fantastically Great Women who Changed the World, by Kate Pankhurst, and chose to dress as Suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst. "She wanted to dress as someone important," Holly told us, adding: "We love World Book Day. It's a great opportunity to engage children in reading for pleasure and it doesn't have to be expensive. The hat was £1."
Jamie's daughter Lexi, 10, dressed as Grubby Gertrude, from David Walliams' book World's Worst Children. Jamie says: "She loves David Walliams as an author. I think World Book Day is a fantastic day of the year and something that all children should participate in so that they are encouraged to read and enjoy the memories that great books provide."
Dionne's daughter Georgie, 11, dressed up as Miss Trunchbull. "Matilda [by Roald Dahl] has been her favourite book for a long time," Dionne told us, adding that her sausage dog, Roger, "chose Harry and His Bucketful of Dinosaurs [by Ian Whybrow] because it's his favourite thing to chew".
Evie and Niamh, both eight, from Cumbria, dressed up as Thing One and Thing Two from Dr Seuss's The Cat in the Hat. Evie's mum Lauren says: "They are best friends and wanted to go as a pair. They thought they might get away with mischief as Thing One and Thing Two. They love World Book Day. The excitement in the playground this morning was brilliant."
