Wag before the tail: North Ridgeville Planning Commission tables dog grooming addition – cleveland.com

North Ridgeville Planning Commission takes on building expansion for dog groomer’s building. Linda Gandee
NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio — A dog grooming and training center hoping to build an addition will have to sit and wait a while longer.
The North Ridgeville Planning Commission tabled the matter at its May 14 meeting pending more detailed site planning.
Chuck Stella of Elite K-911, 31740 Cook Road, is seeking to add 1,130 square feet for a storage building and a dumpster enclosure.
The project raised questions from city administrators, particularly the Planning and Development Director Kim Lieber and City Engineer Christina Eavenson.
Eavenson emphasized the need for more detailed site planning, indicating that the storage building would be situated at the back of the building.
However, she and Lieber noted that the project requires better coordination and a more comprehensive plot plan.
As commissioners reviewed maps, one expressed confusion over the groomer’s exact needs.
Eavenson reassured them, stating that a larger plot plan is necessary, but “we are almost there.”
Ultimately, the commission decided to table the project for discussion at its next meeting.
In addition to the dog groomer proposal, the commission reviewed several other requests.
They included a church’s request for additional parking, a VFW post’s request for an awning over their patio and a smoothie bar’s request for a zoning compliance certificate.
Each of these issues was considered in relation to broader planning efforts within the city. They were recommended for approval by the commission and will now go to City Council for a final vote.
The next Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for June 11. The commission meets the second Tuesday of each month.
