And the world’s richest dog – a German Shepherd named Gunther – is reportedly worth more than Adele and Ed Sheeran combined.
In 2023, it was reported that Adele was worth roughly £165 million, having sold over 100 million albums worldwide. Ed Sheeran had a slightly higher net worth of £300 million, meaning that the combined wealth of both artists stands at over £400 million.
But Gunther VI has an even bigger fortune than those two put together – with a fortune reaching nearly £500 million.
The pooch has properties worldwide, a team of 27 staff and enjoys perks like a private jet and a chauffeur-driven BMW convertible.

One of his most famous purchases was Madonna’s former Miami mansion, which he bought for £6 million and later sold for £23 million.
As far as the origin of his wealth is concerned, it was once claimed that Gunther VI’s relative, Gunther III, inherited $80 million (£62 million) in 1992 from a German Countess, Karlotta Leibenstein, after the death of her son.
However, this tale was later revealed to be false.
In a 2023 Netflix documentary, Gunther’s Millions, Italian entrepreneur Maurizio Mian admitted that the inheritance story was made up.

The wealth actually came from his family, and the elaborate tale was a way to avoid Italian taxes and Gunther III was actually Mian’s girlfriend’s pet.
Despite the fictional backstory, Gunther VI’s fortune is very real and is managed by a group of human trustees.
They have successfully grown his wealth through investments, including buying sports teams like Pisa Sporting Club and even forming a pop group called The Magnificent 5.
The dog enjoys a lifestyle fit for royalty. He has a private chef who prepares gourmet meals, including gold-covered steaks, and he travels the world on a yacht and private jet.
Gunther VI has also been recognized by Guinness World Records as the richest dog.
