TEMPLE, Texas — A stretch of new businesses is making waves in West Temple, bringing fresh energy and services to the community.
Located off West Adams Avenue, the Prairie View Center is ready to officially open its doors, housing four unique establishments designed to serve local residents in various ways.
Whether you need a refreshing snack, swimming lessons for your children or grooming services for your four-legged friend, the new business hub aims to be a comprehensive destination for West Temple families.
As summer approaches and temperatures rise, many families look forward to cooling off in the water. Safe Splash Swim School is perfectly positioned to help children and adults alike develop crucial swimming skills.
The school features a state-of-the-art indoor pool maintained at 90 degrees year-round, making it accessible regardless of weather conditions.
Ashley Major, the General Manager of Safe Splash, said they’re at 90% capacity but offer a lot of options.
“So right now we offer our normal programming Monday through Saturday, starting in June, we’ll offer swim camps as well,” said Major. “That will be four days in a row, Monday through Thursday.”
After an invigorating swim lesson, visitors can refuel at William Hoyt Bagels and Brew. Owner William Carlton has created a warm, inviting space where community members can enjoy artisanal bagels and specialty coffee drinks.
Carlton, who sources ingredients locally whenever possible, hopes to leave customers with more than just a tasty snack—he aims to create a sense of belonging and community connection.
“We get to leave people better than we found them so they get to come in and they leave with a smile on their face,” said Carlton. “They get to have an awesome coffee, an awesome New York style bagel, they come in they may not be having the best day and when they leave they have a smile on their face and that’s just one of the best reasons that we get to do what we do.”
Pet owners in West Temple now have a premium option for keeping their canine companions clean and comfortable. Wags Dog Grooming and Spa offers comprehensive grooming services, from basic baths to full styling.
The spa features separate areas for different-sized dogs and offers special packages for regular customers, including a loyalty program that provides discounts on recurring appointments.
Devin Vandiver said he wants local dog owners to have a great experience.
“We have an opportunity for six different groomers so we can we can house six different employees, six different skilled groomers,” said Vandiver. “We have a front desk person that does the scheduling so we’re just trying to provide as much experience with the dog grooming industry as much as we can.”
Completing the Prairie View Center’s lineup is Burst Bowls, which is expected to open in July. This establishment will specialize in frozen yogurt and acai bowls, offering a healthier alternative to traditional desserts.
With its diverse offerings and community-centered approach, the Prairie View Center represents a significant step forward in West Temple’s ongoing development, bringing new services, employment opportunities and gathering spaces to the neighborhood.
