ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Individuals looking to pamper their pets have a new facility to frequent in Lehigh County.
Hounds Town Allentown, offering fully interactive dog daycare, overnight dog and cat boarding and pet spa services, will hold a grand opening celebration, 4-6 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at 2305 28th St. SW in Allentown.
The event will feature exclusive offers, food vendors and raffle prizes, including a grand prize of 10 free days of daycare, according to a news release.
Pet and human treats will include pup cups, ice cream and Burger Shack burgers, and guests also will be able to take advantage of special service offers relating to vet care, rescue support and pet care.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce will be held at 5 p.m.

“The Hounds Town team wants to thank Allentown and surrounding communities for the warm welcome and introduce the concept to local pet lovers by hosting an event filled with special deals,” the release states.
Hounds Town Allentown, which held a soft opening in March, is part of a national chain of pet care facilities, with other regional Hounds Town locations operating in Reading, Berks County and Chalfont, Bucks County.
Hounds Town USA, founded in 2000 by former NYPD and Nassau County Police canine holder Michael Gould, offers an “affordable and refreshingly straightforward approach to pet care with no hidden fees or extra charges for add-on services,” according to the business’ website.

Facilities feature expansive play areas for all-day play, large luxury suites for overnight dog boarding and a pampering doggie day spa offering bathing services.
“Our natural pack environments allow dogs to play in groups of other dogs their own size, temperament, and play style all day long-socialization that contributes greatly to a balanced life for a dog,” a message on the business’ website reads. “Our themed overnight boarding suites allow for a relaxing and restful sleep after a full day of play.”
In Allentown, co-owners Michael Beauchamp and Linda D’Alessandro renovated a roughly 6,000-square-foot building to include new playrooms and boarding rooms, dubbed “townhomes.”

An outdoor play area is coming later this year, Beauchamp said.
Services include dog daycare, starting at $30 on select days; dog boarding, starting at $60 a night; cat boarding, $25 a night; and pet spa services, including hypoallergenic spa baths, blowouts, nail trimming and teeth brushing.
The facility, featuring five indoor playrooms, is able to accommodate more than 160 dogs at any given time, Beauchamp said.
“We offer pet taxi as well,” Beauchamp said. “So, we can pick the dogs up and bring them to the facility if you wish.”
Beauchamp and D’Alessandro are lifelong dog lovers and saw a need for a local Hounds Town outpost as existing Lehigh Valley dog daycare and boarding facilities are often very busy.
“We thought, ‘Let’s do something that we all love and something that will provide a great service to the community,’” Beauchamp said.
