A Pembrokeshire woman is paws-itively loving life after opening a new dog grooming business near a popular seaside town.
Sarah Wright opened Trefdraeth Dog Grooming near Newport Beach, last Saturday, February 8 and since then she has been having a ball.
Sarah moved to Pembrokeshire from Sheffield where she had built up a successful dog grooming business there, running a grooming salon with her mother for over a decade and placing in dog grooming competitions.

“I have always been an animal lover and always had dogs,” said Sarah.
“When I started cutting and doing specific grooms I took to it like a duck to water. I love it, it’s a passion.”
Sarah said that starting to run her dog grooming business in Pembrokeshire has ignited a ‘fire in her belly’.

Sarah plans to open during the weekend and also in the evenings in the summer.
“It fits around family life for me and is good for dog owners that are working,” she said.
So far she has had a good response and has enjoyed meeting local dogs and their owners.
Each dog is booked in for a one-to-one slot which lasts two hours. This gives Sarah time to get to know the dogs and settle them if they are nervous.
The dogs owners usually go for a walk on Newport Beach while they are waiting or into town for a coffee, with Sarah ringing them 20 minutes before their precious pet needs to be picked up.
Sarah is enjoying working from a more rural location.

She is also enjoying living in Newport.
“I love it,” she said. “We are out walking with the children all the time, on the beach and on the Parrog, calling into the pub for a drink.”
Sarah plans to stock bespoke collars and possibly offer dog walking in the future and hopes that locals and visitors alike will make use of her services.
“The business in Sheffield is still run by my mum,” she said. “It’s a really successful dog grooming salon. I am hoping to have that here.”
