Local dog kennel burns down in 2-hour long Sunday morning fire – WTVG

LAKE TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WTVG) – A local kennel and dog boarding facility burned down in a fire spread by extreme winds in Perrysburg Sunday morning, officials say.
Over 35 firefighters from 5 different departments responded to a fire burning down Bark N Lounge LLC in Perrysburg Sunday morning, according to officials. The owners of Bark N Lounge LLC were able to get the majority of the dogs out of the building and firefighters got the remaining dogs out and began fighting the fire.
The Lake Township Fire Department (LTFD) says that the fire started in a motorhome next to the building, but the wind pushed the flames into the attic of the business.
Officials from the scene described the attic fire as sounding like a jet engine and said that the flames spread quickly and that the wind made it tough to put out the fire, taking approximately 2 hours to be put out.
Lake Township officers were closely monitored for frostbite while fighting the fire, and there were no injuries as a result of the incident.
Officials from the LTFD say the fire was believed to be accidental and was possibly caused by an unattended space heater.
Bark N Lounge has created a crowdsourcing fundraiser to help with expenses.
