Health unit looking for help with possible dog biting incident – cknxnewstoday.ca

Grey Bruce Public Health is asking for help from the public to identify a dog involved in a recent potential biting incident in Arran-Elderslie.
On October 22 around 7:30 p.m., a woman and her daughter were out walking their dog on 1st Avenue North in Chesley near the municipal fire hall when they met a woman walking an older looking dog.
The two dogs had an altercation which caused the woman walking with her daughter to fall and sustain injuries. GBPH was informed that the woman who fell may have been bitten during the altercation.
The older dog is described as being a mixed breed and yellow/tan in colour. The woman walking the dog was wearing a floral t-shirt and black pants.
Staff at GBPH need to confirm the dog is not infectious with rabies. By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to call Grey Bruce Public Health at 519-376-9420 ext. 1229.
Police say they’ve received several reports of individuals messaging vendors on Facebook for registration or payment.
