I’ve been thinking a lot about something lately.
Most brands talk at people.
We’ve always wanted to talk with you.
Because if you’re here, reading this, caring about your dog’s health the way you do… you’re not just a customer to me, and your dog is not just a dog!
You’re part of our community, a big worldwide family of people who understand how amazing and important dogs are for the world.
You’re curious, someone who craves a deeper understanding of how and why nutrients and supplements work. Someone who believes our dogs deserve the best.
You also seem to love the sense of connection… the feeling that we’re walking this path together… We are alike, and we love our dogs more than….
You fill in what comes to mind.
Am I weird if the word that came up is “ANYTHING”?!
And connecting with being close to like-minded people is also the reason I’m starting something new.
It’s a new interview series I’m calling Get to Know Your Vet. (GTKYV)
This year, I had the privilege of meeting some of you in Florida and Mallorca, where I was presenting, and I also became friends with some of my colleagues, veterinarians, and healers, whom I had never met in person before.
I had so much fun, realizing this is exactly what I miss the most about being online.
This is how the GTKYV idea was born.
Each episode is a fun, relaxed, informal conversation between a fellow veterinarian and me.
But here is something different. Of course, we talk about dogs, but we also talk about our lives, feelings and what we do outside of work.
We talk about life, our values, mistakes and lessons learned.
These aren’t polished, clinical interviews.
They’re more like the private conversations that usually happen after a conference talk. Or during a long walk. Or over a cup of tea, when the pressure is off, and people speak from the heart.
When you watch, I want you to feel as if the three of us are sitting together, sharing stories and ideas, rather than being “taught” or sold anything.
Why does this matter?
Because I feel you deserve to know your vets!
I thought it would be nice for you to know why we do what we do. What is the question, and why did we change our minds about medicine, nutrition and healing in general?
My hope is that these conversations help you feel even more connected and supported on your dog’s health journey.
Not just because you’re getting information, but because you’re getting to know the humans beyond the vet talk.
That’s what Get to Know Your Vet is really about.
We already have several episodes of the GTKYV lineup. Dr. Judy Morgan, Dr. Karen Becker, The Raw Pet Medics trio – Dr. Clarke, Thompson and O’Brady, Dr. Laurie McCauley and more…
It feels especially meaningful to begin this series with someone I respect deeply, and who is also a great conference organizer and community connector, Dr. Judy Morgan.
In the first episode, you will learn how the idea of GTKYV really started.
Dr. Morgan has been a guest and also a host on more than 200 radio programs, but I promise you’ve never heard her like this before!
Our conversation ranges from farm life, a glass-roof church, animal stories, social media boundaries, financial stress in veterinary medicine, and a surprisingly memorable marriage story involving exchanged extension cords.
If you’d like to sit in on a real, honest conversation between two veterinarians, I think you’ll enjoy this.
