BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – Most people want the best for their dog, so imagine being able to give them their own serene spa day!
At Willow & Lucky’s Do It Yourself Dog Spa, you can reserve a private room with shampoos, towels, grooming supplies and more to give your pet rest, relaxation, and a good clean.
The grand opening and open house began Saturday, allowing potential clients to check out the space and review spa packages. Costs vary between $18 to $28, depending on the products and services picked to pamper your pet.
Grown from owner Cyndi Rollins’ Dogn’I Apparel, that creates fun pet-and-human matching accessories, she says it’s just one step further in expanding her dog-centric business.
The spa is run out of Rollins’ home, who says this option provides a more peaceful experience for dogs and owners alike compared to typical dog grooming spaces.
”When dogs are having baths, when there’s distractions, other dogs in the area, it can be hard to keep them focused on getting relaxation because they’re not. But this is, you have the spot all to yourself when you come, there’s no other dogs, there’s no other people,” explains Rollins. “And if you’re like me, bending over the bathtub is very hard on your back, plus cleaning the bathtub afterwards. It’s a lot of work. So this is why I got the big tub for my dogs because I can stand up now and give them a bath and we can both enjoy bath time.”
Currently, the spa is open on weekday nights and weekends and is located on Mt. Hope Ave.
