A BOY of 12 was left with a horrific wound like a shark bite after being attacked by a Staffordshire bull terrier.
Terry Dunnigan has had surgery and needs skin grafts on his leg. He’s likely to be scarred for life.
He had been playing with the Staffie, which belonged to a family friend, in his garden when he was savaged.
Sister Tammy Redford, 23, said: “It just went for Terry and grabbed a big chunk out of his leg. It looked like a shark bite – the police said it was one of the worst bites they had ever seen.”
Terry was rushed to Dundee’s Ninewells Hospital for treatment from his home in the city’s Mid Craigie area on Tuesday night.
Mum Rose Peebles, 42, said he was due to have skin grafts but was doing well. Dad Terry, 54, revealed his son had asked for a Staffie the day before the attack.
But Rose added: “I don’t think he’ll play with a dog again.”
Police said a 39-year-old woman had been charged in connection with the incident.
