A multi-award-winning mobile dog grooming business in Carlisle has said that it is ‘very excited’ for 2025.
Once upon a Dog is a mobile holistic dog grooming business that is owned by Alexia Payot and was started in 2021 when she was based in Worcester.
However, at the end of June 2024, the entrepreneur and dog lover made the move to Carlisle and brought her business, which has won several accolades including an England Business Award, with her.
Alexia has loved dogs since her childhood in France and after moving to the UK in 2017, was determined to take up a canine-related profession.
Alexia and Once upon a Dog has now been based in Carlisle for over six months and recently celebrated their first New Year in the city, with the business owner reflecting on her early success in Cumbria.
She said: “The first six months have been amazing, I managed to discover even more the people from Carlisle and I really enjoy it.
“I am creating new bonds and relationships every day with the dogs I meet and that is the best feeling.
“All my clients are very nice and respectful. Many people appreciate the holistic part of my business which is the most important to me.
“People seemed very pleased and most of them really spoiled me during Christmastime which really melted my heart and made me feel even more welcomed here.”
Despite a successful start to life in Carlisle, Alexia is not resting on her laurels and expressed her excitement at what 2025 has to hold for her mobile dog grooming business.
She said: “I am very excited to see what 2025 has to offer, I cannot wait to meet new customers and I also started to study as an assistant vet nurse to learn even more about pet’s health.
“I always want to know more to make sure I can offer good advice and services to my lovely clients.”
