BRISTOL – Arf Arf Grooming has been caring for area pets for 15 years, bringing happiness to animals and their owners.
Arf Arf Grooming, located at 5 Broad St., is owned by Deborah Zakrewski, who operates the business with the help of two employees, Kaylee James and Crystal Seibert.
They provide grooming services for dogs and cats and have a loyal base of customers from throughout Bristol and surrounding towns. Some long-time customers come to them from as far away as Old Saybrook, Zakrewski said.
Eileen Scarano, of Wolcott, has been bringing her three dogs Elvis, Gizmo and Colby, to Arf Arf Grooming for years. They had an appointment for grooming on Wednesday and remained calm and happy during their “spa day.”
“She’s one of the best in the business,” said Scarano about Zakrewski. “She does it not for the money, but for love of the pets.”
Scarano has been grooming pets for more than 30 years. She said her whole family are animal lovers and she probably got her start with pet grooming as a kid, taking care of a family dog after it had been sprayed by a skunk.
“I used to rescue cats off of the street and raise rabbits,” Scarano said. “I just love animals, whether they are friendly at first or not.”
