AN ANIMAL-LOVER has followed her passion to set up her own dog grooming business.
Alisha Kirkham was delighted to launch Barkin’ Beauties last July.
Opening the business saw the former Rainford High pupil fulfil a lifelong dream, who has always loved animals and had many pets growing up.
“I have always loved animals, I always wanted to work with them,” said Alisha, who runs the Boundary Road-based business.

Alisha gained qualifications at college and at UCLAN University, and has built up six years of experience in the dog grooming industry.
When the chance came, she decided to pursue her ambition to set up her own business.
“I wanted to do my own thing and this opportunity came up to run my own space, and I have been building my own business ever since,” said Alisha, from Eccleston.
“It is one-to-one dog grooming, it is and me and the dog.”

Barkin’ Beauties offers baths and brushes, full long-haired grooms, full short-haired grooms, puppy grooms, nails and spa treatment.

Alisha, 27, is focused on continue to grow the business and build her clientele and in future she would like to move to a bigger premises.

“It has been really good so far, and everyone is really nice.
“I want to keep going and eventually move into a bigger space.
“I think eventually I’ll outgrow this place and find somewhere bigger.”
