A dog which had escaped was shot and killed by police after an incident in the city. Officers attended the area of Retief Close and Queen Elizabeth Road, in Lincoln, after two dogs escaped on the morning of Sunday, September 8.
One man was injured during the incident and taken to hospital with injuries to his arm. Police officers tried to sedate both dogs but confirmed that one dog was shot and killed after it "continued to be aggressive".
Three people were arrested and remain in custody. A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: "As the dogs posed an ongoing danger to the public, officers have tried sedating the dogs with darts. This did not change the behaviour of one dog who continued to be aggressive and it was shot and has been despatched. The second dog has been taken to the vets for treatment."
