If you have a dog as a pet, you know the bond between human and canine is a special one.
In fact, dogs are the most popular pets in the U.S. with 49 million households across the country having one or more dogs, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
Some dog breeds, however, are more popular than others, with varying results by state, according to recent data.
The Golden Retriever is the most popular dog breed in Ohio, according to a report from U.S. News & World Report. The report, “The Most Popular Dog Breed in Each State,” compared 811,798 data points from a third-party pet insurance industry partner during fall of 2023. The data points included dog breeds and state residence, which was filtered to reveal the most popular breeds in each state.
