Dog missing after owner shot and killed at Buckhead apartments, police say – Atlanta News First

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A man has died after being shot at an apartment complex in Buckhead on Sunday and police say his dog is now missing.
The victim was identified as 22-year-old Jaden McKinnon.
Police said they responded to 485 Lindbergh Place Northeast (Willowest in Lindbergh apartments) around 1:30 p.m. and found McKinnon with a gunshot wound. He died from his injuries on his way to the hospital.
Atlanta News First spoke to some residents of Willowest who say they heard arguing and gunshots around 1 p.m. One witness who knows McKinnon says she saw a man run off with McKinnon’s dog after she heard the gunfire.
Police have confirmed that the victim’s dog, a French bulldog, is still missing. French bulldogs are a valuable breed that can go for thousands of dollars.
The apartment complex sent out a statement to residents saying they believe this is an isolated incident, but they will allow tenants out of their leases due to the circumstances.
Detectives continue to investigate.
