Gabriel Feitosa, a world-renowned dog groomer, is transforming pets into living art at his newly-revamped pet boutique in San Diego.
“(Growing up), I thought I was going to be an artist,” Feitosa shared. “From the moment that I started dog grooming, I got obsessed with it.”
At 12, he started working at a local dog grooming shop in his native country of Brazil. He has since won international dog shows and dog grooming competitions, which earned him a spot on ABC’s former “Pooch Perfect,” with celebrity judges Rebel Wilson and Lisa Vanderpump.
Now based in San Diego, the viral TikTok star (2.1 million followers) opened his own cage-free pet boutqiue at 4219 Park Boulevard in 2019 to give pets creative makeovers.
Specializing in “dog-grooming art,” Feitosa and his team give pets elaborate haircuts inspired by pandas, giraffes, marshmallows and even Pokémon, among other things.
Feitosa’s team uses vegan, pet-friendly temporary dyes and offers services like pet trims, breed standard trims, Asian fusion techniques and handstripping.
To achieve the best look, Feitosa and the pet owner consider the dog’s personality, color, natural hair color and type, and body shape. He said his clients travel from as far as New York to secure a spot at his boutique. The makeover typically takes four hours.
Custom colorful creative designs start at a $500 and can go up to $1,200 for an appointment with a Feitosa team member. (To book specifically with Feitosa, special rates apply.)
Regular haircuts start at $125.
The famous dog groomer also supports The San Diego Humane Society by giving long-standing rescues makeovers to increase their chances of getting adopted.
