Dog groomer in the pink with her dream job – IndyNR.com

Susanna Freymark
Lauren Armstrong has a hot pink tub for dogs on the ground floor of her house in Geneva.
A neon light in the shape of a poodle sits above the tub. Her two Rottweilers, Chuck and Margo are more than happy to jump into the tub, even if its only to pose for a photograph.
“They’re my favourite breed,” Lauren said.
Chuck and Margo are super friendly.
Lauren opened her dog grooming salon Groovy Grooms in February.
She has had seven years of training before opening her own business – with Wolf Whistles and other dog grooming businesses.
It all started when Lauren was at high school and she spoke to a careers advisor.
She told them she wanted to work with animals and they suggested becoming a vet.
Lauren didn’t think that wasn’t for her, and after doing work experience with a dog grooming salon, she found her calling.
“I love dog grooming,” the 25 year old said.
“It is my passion and I view it as an art form.”

“There’s nothing more fulfilling than transforming a dog’s appearance and seeing the happiness on both the dog’s and owner’s face.”
She said she is able to put a dog at ease and make sure the dog is comfortable getting washed, having its nails clipped and whatever else needs to be done.
Lauren feels that her life is truly balanced.
“I’m fortunate enough to be able to run my own dog grooming business form home which allows me to do what I love while also caring for my children,” Lauren said.
Prices vary depending how much grooming your dog gets – prices start at $40 to $200.
To book at Groovy Grooms call Lauren on 0438 409 706, or go to Groovy Grooms Facebook page.
