Meet the adorable rescue dogs looking for new homes – Swindon Advertiser

Dozens of adorable rescue dogs are looking for new forever homes.
The Dogs Trust currently has 23 pets in need of caring and responsible owners at its nearest centre to Swindon which is in Newbury.
For more information or to apply to rehome any of the below pets, visit www.dogstrust.org.uk/rehoming or email info@dogstrust.org.uk or call 0303 003 0000.
Russ the SalukiRuss the Saluki (Image: Dogs Trust) Russ the two-year-old Saluki needs a secure and private garden as he enjoys running around and intense playing. He also loves a cuddle and needs to complete his training.
Dee Dee the DobermanDee Dee the Doberman (Image: Dogs Trust) Dee Dee the seven-year-old Doberman needs a home where she is the only pet, she can live with children of at least 12 years of age, and has medical conditions that need care and management.
She is very friendly, loves making new friends, and enjoys playing off-lead in the garden.
Skye the Siberian Husky cross PomeranianSkye the Siberian Husky cross Pomeranian (Image: Dogs Trust)
Skye the six-year-old Siberian Husky cross Pomeranian would like adopters who could help build her confidence and who are willing to give her time to settle into her new home.
She would love a home that can play with her daily, and take her out on long walks in quieter areas, before cuddling down for the evening on the sofa.
Oscar the NewfoundlandOscar the Newfoundland (Image: Dogs Trust) Oscar the two-year-old Newfoundland is timid – particularly around loud noises and people he does not know – and likes leisurely walks.
He is looking for a quiet home with minimal leaving hours and minimal guests, especially while he is settling in, and that has enough space to accommodate his size.
Benji and Pepe.Benji and Pepe. (Image: Dogs Trust) Benji the eight-year-old Schnauzer cross Yorkshire Terrier is described as “a proper distinguished gentleman” who is happiest when on a walk or spending time with his handlers.
He would love to be rehomed with his friend Pepe – a portly nine-year-old Scottish terrier with some medical issues – and would benefit from a quieter home with minimal leaving hours.
Laika and Smokey.Laika and Smokey. (Image: Dogs Trust)
Eight-year-old Huskies Laika and Smokey need a home that can accommodate both of them and give them regular exercise.
Laika is wonderfully affectionate,  while Smokey is friendly and aloof, and they both enjoy exploring while on walks but are “not a fan of other dogs” and a bit fussy with their food.
Smokey and Laika are a very sweet pair of huskies, who will add character and laughter to the right home.
Ruby the Cocker Spaniel.Ruby the Cocker Spaniel. (Image: Dogs Trust) Ruby the 11-year-old Cocker Spaniel needs a relaxing home where she can spend her golden years. She is still active, loves going for a swim, and enjoys affection from people she knows.
Ruby could live with children of a primary school age who are calm and sensible around older dogs. As Ruby is an older girl, adopters will need to be mindful of ailments as she continues to age and costs associated with this.
Winston the Bulldog.Winston the Bulldog. (Image: Dogs Trust) Winston the three-year-old Bulldog loves interacting with people, having a fuss, and playing with his toys – but does not like sharing them, and needs to work on swapping his toys and visiting the vets.
He needs a quiet adult-only home and requires active training as well as his own crate, pen or room. He can be worried and reactive towards other dogs.
