SIMSBURY, CT — Local police found a wandering dog enduring the day’s bitter cold late Tuesday afternoon and the department needs help finding its owner.
The Simsbury Police Department posted on its Facebook page that it found the dog ambling on the greenway path near Hoskins Road during the afternoon.
With Connecticut currently under cold-weather protocols this week, temperatures are uncomfortably cold and unsafe for people and pets.
The SPD is looking for the dog’s owner and, as of early Wednesday morning, has not posted an update yet.
The good news is the dog is warm and safe, and officials are hopeful the canine mystery will be solved.
If anyone has any information about the identity of the dog, call the SPD at 860-658-3100.
