SIOUX CITY – No time to take your dog to the groomer? Let the groomer come to you.
A new business providing mobile pet grooming services has expanded its coverage area to include Sioux City. Zoomin Groomin has 100 locations nationwide. Business partners Jordan Boots and Bob Lundin, based in Sioux Falls, purchased the franchise and opened for business on July 15, 2024.
“We recognized that the home services industry had a big play after COVID and that a lot of people are interested in having people come to your house to perform whatever service they need,” Boots said. “And we have a background in the pet industry, so we thought this franchise looked especially appealing for us because we come right to your doorstep. It’s very convenient and it’s very easy for the customers to have a great spa experience for their pets that is different than what they are currently getting out of brick and mortar.”
The vans are retrofitted to include a large bathing tub complete with shower and an area for haircuts and trims.
“The experience is really one of a kind because we are coming right to your driveway. All our vans are retrofitted with full spa conversion on the inside,” Boots said.
The local franchise has four transit vans filled with everything the groomers could need on the inside. It includes a 55-gallon water tank on the back.
“We are doing the entire groom right in our van in your driveway.”
Zoomin Groomin is especially well suited for dogs with anxiety issues which would make it difficult for them to be taken to a freestanding dog grooming business.

Kieran Philpotts is the Sioux City dog groomer. On Friday morning, he was bathing and grooming a cocker spaniel named Kobe.
Philpotts said as a pet lover and dog owner, he loves his job. “It beats sitting behind a desk,” he said Friday.
The cost of the mobile service is about $20-$30 more than the average brick and mortar location, Boots said. But he stresses the one-on-one attention given to the dog is worth the extra expense.
At a brick-and-mortar location, there are many dogs being cared for by multiple groomers.
“With us you get one on one attention, it’s just my groomer and your dog taking it from bath to blow-out to a full trim, whatever it may be. And we really give them our full attention,” Boot said.
“We get a lot of high anxiety dogs that are nervous when they go to the groomer. We provide a more relaxing experience for the pet.”

Boots said they try to be competitively priced.
“Because we are mobile, it takes us more time with the dog. We can’t get as many dogs done in a day as the brick and mortar.”
Services are available in Sioux City on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. You can book appointments at their website, zoomingroomin.com
“The customers that we attract are people that have high anxiety dogs, bigger dogs that a lot of times are a little more stubborn to get into the car and take to the salon. We really are unique as far as the experience we provide. When people are comparing their normal grooming at a brick and mortar, it is really apples to oranges as far as the experience we provide,” Boots explained.
