New dates added for Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s Dog Days at the Zoo! – KKTV

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo said they’ve added two more dates for Dog Days at the Zoo.
Now, visitors can being their own furry friends to the zoo on four different dates. The zoo said they will host Dog Days this Friday, Nov. 27, Dec. 11 and Dec. 27.
Dog Days is not just exciting for humans and their dogs, but it is exciting for the zoo animals too! The Zoo said it gives their animals a chance to show off their natural instincts whether it is protection, predation or just pure curiosity.
“Some animals, like lemurs and meerkats, strengthen their bonds and confidence by ‘protecting their territory’ from visiting dogs – at least that’s what they likely think is happening when they respond to a visiting dog and the dog moves along,” Cheyenne Mountain Zoo said. “Some predators, like mountain lions, like to stalk the dogs. Some others, like gorillas, seem curious and calmly watch the furry visitors.”
The zoo said all you need to do is purchase a dog ticket along with the rest of the family’s human tickets. One dog ticket is allowed per adult ticket, and each dog is required to be with an adult in charge of it.
