The family was devastated when their beloved shih tzu, Leon, was taken during a burglary. A judge ordered the woman detained, and a prosecutor noted, “She has no intention of stopping conducting these crimes. So I do believe she is a danger to the community, going into somebody’s home, luckily this individual was not there, but that certainly did not matter to her.”
More than 100 children and staff members were evacuated from the child care center, and the building remains uninhabitable.

“It is my understanding, the manager of the property on which the billboard is located has reported that its system was hacked, and the billboard has been disabled,” the mayor said. An area congressman labeled the message “disgusting.”
Officials said there was no one else around the inmate at the time he fell. After being taken to a local hospital, he was later airlifted to a second hospital.
In July, police were contacted by family members of a 13-year-old girl who had discovered inappropriate messages of a sexual nature between a man and the juvenile on Facebook. Detectives learned that the messaging on social media took place over a span of several months and that Arndt was an Illinois Department of Corrections employee, officials said.
The suburban man wore the same flannel shirt in a majority of the multi-state bank ID theft crimes, police said.
U.S. Rep. Sean Casten, a Democrat, was shouted down by opponents of the U.S. policy on Israel. In response, Casten stepped out of the room, saying he wanted things to cool down. A little while later, an officer told the crowd the meeting was over.
