Man with cerebral palsy answers rallying cry for guide dog puppies – Northwich Guardian

A YOUNG man from Winsford is carrying on his campaign to help ensure blind and partially sighted people can find their perfect pooch partner.
Joe Baddeley, a dog lover who has cerebral palsy and autism, organised a charity raffle for the charity Guide Dogs in April, raising £174.
Impressed by his commitment, the charity approached him again in the run up to its annual October Puppy Appeal, to see if he could lend further help.
For a cause so close to his heart, the 25-year-old jumped at the chance.
He’s planning to use his tried and trusted model, which involves appealing for prize donations from friends and family, while selling tickets through Mid Cheshire Food Bank, where he volunteers, and pretty much anywhere else he can think of.
The former Hebden Green and Dee Banks pupil has always been a great animal lover and was delighted to meet some real guide dogs in training when he visited the charity’s Atherton regional headquarters earlier this year.
Joe said: “I really like fund raising and helping people out when I can.
“I love animals, and I especially like guide dogs. It was great to meet some in person when I visited the charity this year.
“I’m really looking forward to meeting them again.”
