The Credit Card in Your Diet: Microplastics, Pet Health, and Our Plastic-Free Promise

I’ll be the first to admit that a lot of what we do here at Dr. Dobias Naturals is unusual, rare, and, by some, considered weird.

But I believe that’s a good thing.

Maybe you will, too, by the time you finish reading this email.

For instance, if you’ve ordered any of our premium-grade natural dog supplements, you know we only use recyclable glass bottles.

And we ship them in plastic-free eco sleeves, which are non-toxic and compostable.

Goodbye plastics, hello ecosleeves

This is unusual because many products (I’m tempted to say almost all of them) are packaged in plastic.

But this is where we draw the line.

Our mission is to help you take the best care of your dogs but also contribute to protecting our environment for everyone’s benefit.

Plastic doesn’t align with our beautiful planet or with our mission.

Plastic is a very serious problem.

Most of us are deeply concerned about the damage to our environment, bodies, and dogs caused by plastic, especially microplastics.

If you stay up-to-date with health news, you’ve been hearing a lot about microplastics lately.

Microplastics are tiny bits of plastic less than 5 millimetres long. They’re in the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat.

They’re everywhere.

But even though microplastics are tiny, they pose a HUGE risk to our personal and planetary health.

Here’s a sample of microplastic studies and stories just from this summer alone:

Microplastics have been linked to inflammation, memory issues, cognitive decline, hormone imbalances, poor heart health, and more.

They’re a nightmare for our health and the environment.

You’re probably ingesting more microplastics than you realize.

A lot more.

In fact, studies show that the average person ingests about 5 grams of plastic per week. That’s the equivalent of a credit card!

Isn’t this wild?!!

Plastic is everywhere, including our bodies (and our dogs, too).

I admit that makes me feel like screaming!

But I believe it’s important to accept reality as it is while striving to create the best possible future we can imagine.

We’re working towards a healthier, plastic-free future by packaging our products in recyclable glass bottles with metal lids and refusing to use plastic in our shipping.

If that makes us a little bit weird, well, we like it that way.

We hope you like it that way, too.

And if you’d like to see all of the products we’ve created to help you and your dog live a happier, healthier life, you can learn more here.

Give your dog a hug from me!
